Alpha's passive heat sinks
There will always be a tradeoff between fin density, thermal performance, and pressure drop. A heat sink with a dense fin pattern will always outperform a comparable heat sink with a sparser fin pattern at a given airflow. However, a denser fin pattern will generate a significantly higher pressure drop, requiring more powerful fans to generate a given airflow.
